Celebrated as a versatile musical pioneer, Grammy-nominated artist James Hood is known for his groundbreaking work, and multi-sensory projects blending music and art.
His extensive musical résumé includes drumming for The Pretenders, more than two decades as the creative force behind the visionary ambient act Moodswings, and a wide array of production and soundtrack projects.
Before Beautifica, Hood transformed the world of immersive artistic experiences with Mesmerica 360, the record-breaking experience that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

The Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium at Buffalo State University
The Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium brings the Universe to students at Buffalo State University, visiting schools and other private groups, and the general public. Whether it be a tour of the night sky, a fulldome movie, or a laser music experience, the immersive visuals and audio of the planetarium transport audiences on an exciting adventure.
Located within the state-of-the-art Science and Mathematics Complex at Buffalo State University, the planetarium is housed within a sphere visible from outside of the Complex through glass walls.
The planetarium houses a Spitz Scidome 4K digital planetarium, a Zeiss Skymaster ZKP-4 star projector, and an Audio Visual Imagination SkyLase immersive laser system. These projection systems together with 5.1 surround sound and ChromaCove lighting create a magical space for audiences up to 48 people under our 35-foot diameter dome.
