The Immersive Pioneer
James Hood is the visionary creator behind the world’s most beloved immersive dome experiences: Mesmerica and Beautifica. Now, Astronomica, the final chapter of this incredible trilogy, is finally here.
Known for his groundbreaking multi-sensory projects that blend music and art, James Hood has an extensive musical résumé, which includes drumming for The Pretenders, acting as the creative force behind the visionary ambient act Moodswings, and a wide array of soundtrack projects.
With Astronomica, James invites us to embark on the final chapter of an audio-visual odyssey. While Mesmerica offered a reflection of calm and Beautifica celebrated life, Astronomica takes you on a cosmic journey designed to inspire hope, love, and awe.
Venue Information
The Sky Theater, University of North Texas
The Sky Theater @ UNT is located in the Environmental Sciences Building on the University of North Texas campus in Denton, TX. This unique 100 seat, 40-foot domed theater features the 360-degree Digistar 6 projection system that can reproduce tonight's sky with digital precision.
Spend some quality time with your family or feed your thirst for knowledge by coming to the show and experiencing their full-color, brand new, HD projection and lighting system. The planetarium presents a variety of entertaining and educational programs for schools, the university, and the general public.
