James Hood is the visionary creator behind the world’s most beloved immersive dome experiences: Mesmerica and Beautifica. Now, Astronomica, the final chapter of this incredible trilogy, is finally here.
Known for his groundbreaking multi-sensory projects that blend music and art, James Hood has an extensive musical résumé, which includes drumming for The Pretenders, acting as the creative force behind the visionary ambient act Moodswings, and a wide array of soundtrack projects.
With Astronomica, James invites us to embark on the final chapter of an audio-visual odyssey. While Mesmerica offered a reflection of calm and Beautifica celebrated life, Astronomica takes you on a cosmic journey designed to inspire hope, love, and awe.

The COSI Planetarium
The COSI Planetarium—the largest in Ohio—features state-of-the-art digital technology that offers an unsurpassed glimpse of our incredible universe.
The COSI Planetarium’s Digistar 7 projection system and 60-foot dome will transport you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, to undersea volcanoes and distant lands, and even into the human body.
